San Francisco Youth Theatre is proud to partner with Gravity Access Services to offer SFYT’s first-ever performance featuring audio description for blind and visually impaired audience members. In addition to live audio description, a haptic access tour will be available before the 5 pm performance of Gary Soto’s The Afterlife on Sunday, March 15. The show will take place at The Flight Deck, 1540 Broadway, Oakland, CA — only two blocks from the 19th Street BART station.

Experience the play that has moved audiences around the world! The Afterlife tells the story of two teenagers — Chuy, who dies by violence, and Crystal, who dies by suicide — who meet in the afterlife, a place between the living and the dead. Their encounter reveals what gets lost when a teen dies. Renowned author Gary Soto has created a powerful theatrical experience that opens doors for healing and exploration, reminding audiences of their value in the world and the impact their actions have on others, now and in the future.  Stay for the cast talkback after the performance to continue the dialogue!

The haptic tour will begin at 3:30, and the performance starts at 5pm. For more information, please visit sfyouththeatre.org/theafterlife.html. Ticket link here. We are offering a special ticket price of $15.00 for this special audio description performance! Call Leslie Price at 708-828-5877 to reserve your space for the haptic tour.

Thank you and we look forward to seeing you and your constituents at this special show.
