Renters and homeowners may qualify for FREE energy bill assistance and FREE home weatherization through the San Joaquin County Human Services Agency. Eligibility is based on gross monthly income and household size; benefit amounts range from $213.00 to $488.00.

Renters who qualify for Energy Bill Assistance may also qualify for FREE Home Weatherization which assists with long term energy-saving improvements to the home that may include refrigerator or microwave oven replacement, water heater or heating and air conditioning unit repair or replacement, LED bulbs, shade screens, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors .  . . and much more!

In order to process your application, you must include:

All pages of your current electric, gas or propane utility bill;

Proof of income for all household members for the last 30 days;

Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal residency (for the applicant only).
